Jafar Sadique appointed as chairman of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission

Jafar Sadique took over the charge as the 22nd chairman of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission on February 03, said a press release on Thursday.

Sadique, an engineer by profession, holds specialisations in non-destructive testing (NDT) of materials, quality management system and integrated management system.

His contribution towards the manpower development in the field of NDT has made this modern technology sustainable in the country.

He was awarded the BSNDT Award by Bangladesh Society for Non-Destructive Testing in 2006 for his outstanding performance and contributions to the field of non-destructive testing.

He obtained BSc degree in mechanical engineering from Bangladesh University Engineering and Technology in 1982 and earned his MSc in non-destructive testing of materials from Brunel University, Middlesex, UK in 1994.

Soon after graduation, he started working in Ghorasal Urea Fertilizer Factory as an assistant engineer and later moved to BAEC as a senior engineer.

Prior to the appointment, he served as a member of the commission, added the release.
